Environmental Senior Specialist
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Environmental permit and report data analysis and regulatory submission for regulatory compliance.
- Hazardous Waste coordination and oversight
- Annual Emergency Evacuation; coordination, documentation, track and follow-up on action item to completion
- Emergency Response Team Drills; coordination, documentation, follow-up actions tracked to completion
- Emergency Egress maps for all building; coordinate and ensure updated maps are updated and hung with acceptable representation.
- Emergency contacts lists; coordinate and ensure updated lists are hung
- Respiratory Program; revise/update user list, coordinate annual medical exams and fit-testing and training- half/full-faced, PAPRs, SCBAs
- Sustainability and EHS KPI; track & update all monthly information
- Compliance calendar: track and monitor progress, provide updates monthly
- Assist in outlining Management Systems for all EHS Programs with assistance from corresponding departments
- Regulatory and technological monitoring for Environmental, Health & Safety.
- Ensures the drafting and follow-up of health & safety documents.
- Maintain Environmental management system for environmental, documentation and reporting environmental, health & safety related site KPI’s
- Coordination and follow-up of corrective actions.
- Document communication feedback from investigation actions.
- Keep a close eye on EHS best practices on the site:
- Regular visits to work areas, ensures that the rules in force are understood and respected. Security meeting moderator.
- Tracking unusual, critical or abnormal operations:
- Conduct regular internal and external (where necessary) audits to ensure compliance –monitor performance and ensure corrective actions are in place in a timely manner.
- EHS risk assessment on change control.
- Performs risk analyses on unusual, critical or abnormal operations
- Securing and monitoring unusual, critical or abnormal operations.
- Analysis of workstations.
- Author Risk assessment for Change Control, RBEAPs, JHA, Etc.
- Track corrective actions necessary from internal/external and client audit findings with CAPA system
- Maintain familiarity with relevant EHS legislation, assess and contribute to relevant consultative documents. Ensure necessary permits and licenses to operate obtained are in compliance to achieve business goals.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree
- At least five years of experience as a EHS Professional in a technical process environment preferably in the Pharmaceutical/chemical field.
- Demonstrable experience of leading the implementation and development of Environmental programs.
- Demonstrate experience with California EHS regulation
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with ability to work with cross-functional teams.
- Excellent interpersonal skills at all levels with a ‘user friendly’ and flexible approach.
- Collaborative approach to resolving issues with other departments
- Track record of implementation of safety policy across company / sites
- Ability to intuitively 'read' situations analyze problems effectively and react appropriately when dealing with a broad range of risk scenarios.
- Strong influencing skills with an ability to lead the development of EHS programs across sites.
- Ability to be pro-active, decisive, do-operative, and solution oriented
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Effective time management skills
Salary: $70-85k per year
