Buyer III - Indirect Purchases and Contracts
Key Responsibilities:
- Act as primary buyer for all Services, Preventative Maintenance and CapEx activities for two US Sites.
- Implement strategies and negotiations to achieve cost savings and cost avoidance within the indirect purchase category
- Manage a diverse range of contracts and renewals including CDA’s, Consulting & Service Agreements, Equipment and Construction Agreements and various vendor agreements
- Initiate RFQ/RFP process for all new requests per local and global Polypeptide guidance.
- Maintain and track status for contracts utilizing the company’s contract management software platform (Gatekeeper)
- Responsible for the distribution of executed contracts to appropriate parties and uploading executed contracts to database (Gatekeeper)
- Work closely with Engineering and Facilities internal groups to support all contracts and procurements of equipment and construction projects
- Provides in house support to internal clients efficiently and effectively to coordinate all business contractual needs
- Review and redline terms and conditions in addition to customer agreements and make recommendations to Senior Management
- Ensure all contracts and pricing is aligned with approved product and pricing programs
- Maintain and update SOPs and Work Instructions
- No supervisory responsibilities required
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Education & Experience
- Required Education: Bachelor’s degree, in scientific discipline preferred
- Experience: 3-5 years of relevant contract management or high-level procurement experience
Skills & Competencies
- Technical Skills:
- Proficient with PC, Microsoft Office Suite, Excel ERP (Dynamics AC or SAP and contract management systems
- Soft Skills:
- o Team player
- o Excellent written and verbal communications skills
- o Able to collaborate, as well as work independently while balancing competing priorities
- o Strong negotiation and project management experience
Work Environment & Physical Demands:
- Main work setting is an office environment with regular coordination of validation activities.
Salary: $70k-$85k per year

In 2007 the US expanded with the acquisition of NEO MPS in San Diego, CA. Currently the US operation has about 175 employees with the GMP area being our biggest department.
