Account Manager

Essential Job Responsibilities:

  • Work as a member of a highly motivated business development team selling high value active pharmaceutical ingredients.
  • Discover, build, and maintain strong, long-lasting customer relationships
  • Identify and qualify business opportunities related to potential projects requiring manufacturing services
  • Generate and maintain call reports and other reports on prospecting activities as required.
  • Work with internal departments such as project management and product development to optimize quality of service, business growth and customer satisfaction.
  • Plan and manage allocated business according to an agreed market development strategy.
  • Plan and prioritize personal sales and customer activities to achieve agreed business targets and goals.
  • Forecast and track key account metrics
  • Maintain databases including CRM for prospects and new project leads
  • Use customer contacts, market intelligence and software systems to monitor and maintain relevant databases. 
  • Attend external events and represent the company as required.
  • Coordinating (with site operations) and participating in client site visits.

Required Skills/Qualifications:

  • The candidate should have an academic degree ( BS, MS, or PHD) in a chemistry-related science
  • Work independently while understanding the necessity for communicating and coordinating work efforts with manager and other departments
  • Experience with CRM system is preferred
  • Strong direct experience in Sales/Business Development (preferably in CMO or related experience)
  • Strong interpersonal communication and relationship building skills, presentation skills, time management and organizational skills and the ability to work well in a team.
  • 30 - 50% travel required, including trade shows and industry events as needed.
  • Experience in selling cGMP pharmaceuticals, biologics or contract manufacturing services is highly desired.  RM experience is a plus
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in Sales/Business Development

Candidates with a knowledge of peptide chemistry, and/or experience in a GMP contract manufacturing environment will have an advantage.

The candidate must be prepared to attend training courses and to develop relevant knowledge, techniques and skills as needed.  The candidate must adhere to health and safety regulations and other policies of PolyPeptide Laboratories.
