PolyPeptide is seeking a Raw Material Team Lead to oversee critical QC operations that ensure the quality and readiness of materials used in peptide and oligonucleotide manufacturing. This is a high-impact leadership role where you will manage a team, drive compliance, and play a key part in delivering high-quality products on time.
Position Summary
As the Raw Material Team Lead, you will lead the testing, release, and compliance of all incoming raw materials, ensuring alignment with cGMP standards and regulatory requirements. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure materials are available, qualified, and ready to support manufacturing without delay.
What You’ll Do
Lead and manage QC operations for raw material testing and release
Ensure compliance with cGMP, pharmacopeial standards (USP/EP/JP), and internal specifications
Review and approve test data, Certificates of Analysis (CoAs), and documentation
Oversee and resolve OOS results, deviations, and investigations
Develop, mentor, and support a team of QC analysts
Partner with QA, Supply Chain, Procurement, and Manufacturing to ensure material readiness
Support internal and external audits as the raw materials SME
Maintain and improve SOPs, methods, and lab workflows
Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency and compliance
What You Bring
Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Biochemistry, or related field (advanced degree preferred)
5+ years of QC experience in a GMP environment, including 2+ years in a leadership role
Strong knowledge of raw material controls, compendial testing, and cGMP regulations
Experience with LIMS, chromatography systems (e.g., Empower), and documentation systems

Salary: $85k-$100k
